doing my head in now as need to find a sharer for one of my ponies.ive done preloved, tack shops etc.anymore suggestions?
im only looking for someone to ride one of my ponies 2/3 times per week for a minimal sum.my ponies are just hackers and we have good off road riding.

Sorry to say but there are alot of people offering share and rides foc..........I have someone who helps me out and they pay nothing and free lifts to funrides etc - I see it that they are doing me a favour.

Its not easy, try your local tack and feed store.

Bizzare!! I am sure there must be a horseless person in staffs thats would love this opportunity although maybe people are worried about riding alone .

If i found that on offer around me it would be fab although i would want do stable duties / grooming ect too as just riding isnt my main priority.

There are people out there- don't give up. I'm in Staffordshire and looking for just that, but something bigger than a pony unfortunately.

Good luck.

I've found mine through horsetoloan.com and equine adverts.

It does take a long time to find someone suitable though, as in a good few months. I have a sharer at the moment but am looking for another one for another two days rather than full loan her out as I'm going back to uni full time. I've had a couple try her but one was too novicey and the other was too restrictive so still looking! There are a lot more people in the past year or so offering shares due to the recession as well.

Try Gumtree :), that's where I found my sharer and she's a gem.

And I think it's normal to ask for a contribution if your sharer is not doing heavy/smelly stable duties.

People will pay to hack. One of my sharers paid £23 a week for 3 days to hack out. She rarely rode in the school. She shared my horse for two years. If you look at how much it costs to ride at a riding school or trekking centre you'll see why. I thought about going hacking in the Yorkshire dales last week but it was £40 for 2hours!

However if you want adults but are offering a share of ponies it's harder. Mine is a 14.3hh middleweight appaloosa so many adults are put off by her size, although she'll carry 11 stone, probably more. I don't want anyone under 15 yrs old as they are generally speaking not reliable enough and as they won't be ssupervised I don't want to risk it.
