Is it worth me getting a Heather Moffett seatbone saver?

......before I splash out on one?

I never used to get sore...but since I have been at uni and not ridden regularly by bottom is now incredibly sensitive! I get horrible saddle sores even from comfy saddles. Unfortunately until I finish uni and buy my own horse I ride other peoples horses and don't have a say in what saddle they have.

Next week I will be going home for 2 weeks and riding someones horse every day, and I'm not looking forward to how much it will hurt :(

I did have a merino sheepskin seat saver which I sold a few months ago, as it was a bit of a pain in the rain, and after a few months it molded and wouldn't go back to it's original shape.

So wondering if other people have them and what they think? Before I go and splash out on one as I am a student with no money!

Thanks! :)

Defo recommend. You might get one on Ebay? They never wear out and can make a not very comfy or slippery saddle really nice to ride on. A good investment.

i would defo recommend as well they are soo comfy, i used it on a saddle that i found rather uncomfy and it worked a treat, it worked a treat and some how helped me to stay on some broncing, i swear to this day that if i hadn't put it on that saddle i would of been off! i picked mine up second hand from the local paper, it was hardly used, for £35

I have one and it's great. With my last horse, for some reason I just got sore anyway, and my last resort (blush) was permanently wearing padded cycling shorts. Worked a treat, honest :D sm x

When my saddle went away to be reflocked the saddler lent me one so I could keep on riding. She also lent me a Heather Moffett thingy as the saddle was not the most comfortable, rider wise. It was wonderful, I almost bought one but my own saddle is jolly comfy so I didn't really need it.

They are pretty pricey tho, so I'd have a snoop about and see if you can find a 2nd hand one.

Definitely recommend them! I've had mine for years - probably nearly 10 and it is still as good as new (almost!)
Well worth the money.

Definitely - I have a bad back so tried all sorts of seat savers and the Heather Moffett was the best by far (and last for years).

Agree with the others - they are fab. My OH (who has quite a skinny bum, unlike me!) and I have one each and use them for riding holidays. Even after 5/6 hours in the saddle we don't have sore seatbones, whatever the saddle.

DO IT! I have a hideously hard saddle which is the only one I have found that fits my high-withered odd-shaped tb and it has been a godsend.

I found one on ebay for £30 incl. postage. SOOOO worth the money! :D
