dont really know how to put this but i have a 9 year old lurcher and when they strech with theyre bum stuck in the air if you know what i mean he has jus sat like that for about 5 mins
Recon he just finds it comfortable, does he usually do it? Our JRT lies in funny positions, tends to look like she has been hit by a car, legs all over the place.
no its the first time ive seen him do it but he does lie in daft positions like hanging his legs down the stairs and his legs sticking up in the air and things lol i have a pic of him asleep up against the wall but dont know how to get it on lol
i have fed him since and he ate all of his tea and ive just given him a bit of milk and he gulped that down as he doesnt get it very often. could it have been that he had a pain as he was hungry? it is hard to tell with him though as he quite a wingey kind of dog i think it is because he is getting a bit stiff that he winges. thanks. im worrying now lol
He quite possible just had a bit of indigestion or gassy colic. Or you may find he has a little diahhroea tommorow. If he doesn't do it again and seems normal, just keep an eye on him.

I have had whippets and lurchers for years and I can tell you this is a position they all do, so more than others, they are very athletic dogs and quite unlike other breeds. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
It is a lurcher thing as others have said - one of mine used to do it for long periods of time as you have said, and there was nothing wrong with him at all
