I've owned my miniature shetland for 4yrs. She is a little on the chubby side, but it's winter😊 My vet said she's perfect weight the now, she is also extremely fluffy as its her winter coat. Im 12 and very short, and weigh 5 and a half stone.
She's 5yrs old!
Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the forum. :) You are indeed very light in weight and I'm sure a mini shetland would carry you with ease. :)

Do you have any photos of your pony? :)

Here is a picture of her in the summer😊 It's on my Instagram page! Thank you!

How tall is he? He looks quite a strongly built pony so provided he isn't a tiny minature I'd think it would do him good to be ridden so he gets fitter.

Deleted because of your age and I don't want to come across like i'm having a go!

Debbie&mini - if she is your pony there is no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed, the people pointing out that she is overweight are only trying to help and give you some advice. If you have helped her to lose weight since the summer then that's great, but if not maybe now is a good time to start? You don't want your pony going in to spring with that much weight on and she will be at serious risk of laminitis and probably numerous other health problems.

There are lots of very knowledgeable people on this forum who I'm sure would love to help you so please don't feel like you have to lie or change your story!
