Is Strongid P safe for my in foal mare?

I prefer Equitape as it conntains a different drug which I believe covers the three species of tapes that can be found in a horse. It does say in pregnant mares to check with your vet first, so I do! He always says to carry on and use it and never had any trouble whatsoever.

I don't know as I use equitape for tapeworm as it is single dose but there is a ??? re pregnant mares so I double dose Pyratape for pregnant mares.

Actually it doesn't specify, hence the question.

That's bad form, how stupid not to have that info on the box.
I have to say that it isn't a brand I can get so haven't used it myself.

Just found this, apparently I can get it, but have no desire to, as I am quite happy with what I already use.
It does not actually state that it is safe for in foal mares, but I see that is covered in S-N's useful link.

The active ingredient in Strongid P is Pyrantel Pamoate. This dewormer is effective against roundworms or ascarids, pinworms, large strongyles and small strongyles. A double dose of this product will also kill tapeworms. This dewormer is safe for mares and foals.

23.6g oral paste (43.9%) single dose tube - $20.99

As above Strongid P (Pyrantel) is fine for pregnant and lactating mares and foals over 4 weeks but Equitape (Praziquantel) is not licensed for mares or foals and therefore should only be used under veterinary advice.
