It's a case of just finding the right person at the right time. A friend of mine sold a 13 year old 14hh Irish cob a year ago for £4000. The pony was just a happy hacker in the New Forest, never been competed or anything although she did have quite a good jump. I nearly died when she got £4 grand for her, I'd have priced her at half that at most!

I think you are asking too much money for his age; if the next child keeps him 5 years then he will be 19 and his value vastly decreased.
IMO he is worth more like £2500 with his tack.

I dont think the time of year and weather will be helping. I wouldnt be thinking of driving out acrtoss the country to try horses in ice and snow. Give it a month and I am sure yopu will haver some interest.

Having read the full ad I don't think he is overpriced, he still has a lot to offer, especially with all tack etc included.
Agree with above post that it is the time of year, especially with all this crappy waether we have been having.
I would re-advertise early spring and hope you find a nice home for him
