is their hope for..

You can do it, but you need to be willing to start at the bottom and work your way up. This is what I did. Started out just mucking out stalls and ended up getting the opportunity to ride some fantastic horses on the A circuit but it took a lot of dedication and hard work. I worked 7 days a week and never said no to anything that was put my way. I proved my riding skills by retraining ex-racehorses and riding the "quirky" horses (to put it nicely :D) and never once complaining or refusing to take on a challenge. I don't come from a horsey family, or have a lot of money (it all gets spent in horses these days anyway ....) but I ended up riding professionally at a decent level, doing catch rides and riding for a few trainers and owners in the area.

Depends what you mean by "professional". I come from a non-horsey family with not much money, started out working with horses at 14 (was a looong time ago) and have made my living by training, riding, producing, managing studfarms, etc. all over the world for almost 40 years. I have been lucky with some good mentors who have taught me, and I also took some horsey exams along the way, so have letters after my name.

thankyou guys! just seems like alot of the girls these days are already up there casually going to poys scope bsja ect, while im still doing really hard graft, i got offered a job at my work experience at a riding school because how well i worked, so that is giving me some hope that some day i will be 'up there'!

There sure is! Both the sister and I came from a background of naughty ponies, never any money but a love of horses and a willingness to learn, graft and listen. We still haven't made it to the proper top level yet but have several young horses in the pipe line that will hopefully next season get us there and run a very busy breaking, livery and schooling yard. We both started at the very bottom end of various yards and worked up from there to eventually starting out our own yard together. If its your dream, work, work and work some more for it. Never say no to an opportunity and never stop learning :)
