My mother has a rescue lab with not fantastic conformation, she has a bit of a weak back end and although only 6 (the vets think) she has days where she looks like she has a tad of arthritis. She is on Canine Cortaflex but I just wondered if there was a bute for dogs? I used to have a supply from the vet for my old horse and when it was a damp cold day it really helped him to have one in his feed - or if the farrier was coming he used to have a couple the day before. She isn't too bad yet but think she is going to be a stiff old dog. Any ideas?

Honestly don't know. As Devils Claw is a herbal thing so don't know if it would affect it?We just bought capsules fromthe health food shop and opened the capsule and put contents in his food each day. He really thrived on it.

Metacam is the canine equivalent of bute - a non-steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). Used it for a couple of years with great success.

Also good old R&A for dogs, this contains fish oil (not cod liver oil), I don't think that you should give pure cod liver oil to dogs though. Dog loves it.
