I have a lovely old saddle to sell, its nothing special, but would suit someone very well as a spare or just a cheapy saddle that you wouldn't mind getting wet or scratched in general use.

Its some kind of english leather GP I think and is quite wide so maybe good for a cob or native. Sound tree and although not expensive or nice its perfectly useable!

Is there any market for saddles like this - I have put it on ebay twice with a reserve of £40 and no-one has bought it

Am I better off just chucking it?

Interesting!

What size is it, and how wide across the D rings?

I have a fat nati...um, I have a robust NF and it might do nicely

Really surprised it did not go on ebay, we have bought and sold quite a few in the past.

I bought an old cliff barnsby saddle from ebay in April 2008 and paid £62.00 for it, i sold it a few weeks ago for £130.
I think alot has to do with condition, good pics and add all the measurements.
The saddle was in poor condition when i bought it but after much cleaning and conditioning it aws fantastic and i showed in it.
I also put 3 pics on ebay 1 side view (on sofa on a white towel) 1 front view and a pic of it on my old horse.
Good luck and i hope this helps.

I find its all in the presentation too.....

I bought a lovely jeffries show sadle for daughter pony for £40 last year - twas a bit dried out but now after plenty of oilings its a cracking little saddle.

I would try putting it back on ebay with a lower reserve to stimulate interest with several really good pics, loads of measurements including a ruler accross the front of the saddle from D-D etc.

I would have thought it would have gone fairly quickly TBH

I am surprised it hasn't sold at that money, and I deffo wouldn't chuck it.
I do think some people ask too much money for old saddles, there is one on ebay I've had my eye on for ages, a Penwood Hunt, but its buy it now only at £150 + £12 p&p, and that is too much. I would have it if I could get it for £100 including p&p.
