Is there a market for horses that...

I would say so not everyone wants to hack. Dresssge or showing people might be interested if all they want to do is school or jumpers who only want to school and jump. Every horse had its bad points is the way I see it I certainly disguard one for it.

Yes in the right area. I'd prefer a horse that was good in traffic (although have never taken any of the horses I've bought in the last decade out on the road to check!) but we don't have to touch a main road at all if we don't want to when we hack out, so it wouldn't be an issue. I only take mine on the road to keep them traffic proof really.

Just be honest in your advert.

Yes! We work with difficult horses, and alot of our well bred dressage horses never go on a hack, and the only "traffic" they see is car park at a show! Infact alot of our horses, a hack is a ride around the field! Some horses dont hack, not the end of the world, so one that doesnt like traffic on its own certainly wouldnt be a problem for us!

My mare won't hack alone. It verges on dangerous so we don't try any more. She's brilliant in company, has jumped foxhunter, has a decent dressage test in her and is a xc machine! For all that I can overlook the only hacking in company!
So yes there is a market!

If they are capable of showing or competing yes, if not very limited market as others have said or a riding school/ treking centre.

Possibly would suit somebody who didn't want to hack at all or at least not on there own. How bad is he in traffic? Is this not something which could be worked on?

Personally I hate roadwork, too many scary drivers...I've never even asked the question when buying a horse as it matters so little

One of my main wants when I was looking for my horse was that I had to have one that was good in country type traffic as we have so many tractors and trailers round here and I was fed up riding a friend's that used to spook and spin at the sight of them - wasn't always possible to get into a gateway or out of the way. But some people are lucky with great hacking and have plenty of chance to get off road. I think it might just limit your market a bit but good on you for being upfront about it.

Yes there's a market. Quite a few horses are a little nervous unless with others and at some yards they don't need to go on roads. If you are straight with potential buyers, there's no reason why the horse shouldn't find a loving, long term home.:)
