I was just looking at some pictures in the gallery and thinking, "I would love to be doing that" [looking at the bareback pictures!]

I used to be quite gung ho in a confident, try anything kind of way and wasn't really phased by "little things" when riding.

I had a confidence crisis 2 - 3 years ago - nothing really "major" but a series of events which lead to me have a nervous breakdown when it came to riding and it got to the point where I would cry getting on a horse and feel useless for doing it, even though I couldn't justify it.

I'm slowly getting there again [not anywhere like how I was when I used to gallop scurry ponies up over the Welsh moors with Muffinino!] and now have managed to break my thinking of tainting every horse with the same brush. I still get a very small "butterfly" feeling before I get on but it melts away. This is good because it means Bailey and I [whom I've had for 4 years now and at 4 and a half has been backed for around 3/4 months now] can start doing everything that I hoped we would do when I first got him. I'm not as brave as I wish I was and will take me time to feel confident to gout jumping etc again, but we'll wait and see.

One of the biggest helps I've found, is looking at other HHO forum members and certain members stick in my mind as motivation. I admire Gorgeous_George - I remember her posts about nerves in the beginning and looking at what she has achieved with George gives me hope that I will overcome my remaining issues. I also look at Rosie [RunToEarth] and see the pictures of her hunting. I would love to think I will do that one day and look at her pictures and think WOW! It gives me the motivation to keep going and try new stuff. They don't know that they help, but they do!

There are others as well, [like MrsMozart] but the names that always stick out to me are those above :)

I just wanted to know if anyone else thought the same about any other forum members who had helped them even without realising it!

Baileys [the drink, not my horse!] and hot chocolate melty pudding for all :D

Not sure really if it would be called inspiring, but I always value Pastie2's opinions. We had a bit of a rough start with a couple of disagreements, but now I always look for her replies.

Not so much motivating/inspiring (im sure they are!) but I always find posts by Fiona M12 very nice, and Spring Feather always comes across very well. I also notice Cally008 does an awful lot on the trace thread too.

But I dont think I could name all of the lovely ones on here! I've not been on here very long, but its so nice to be able to talk and share experiences/advice with so many people.

So thank you ALL very much!

mm, I think Springfeather comes across well too, though I've never had any encounters with her myself I don't think...

Ebonyallen:) quite simply she is an inspiration , with all that life has thrown at her she is still out there riding and battling on, i wish i had even half of her determination:o

Kerilli for taking the time to share her knowledge with less experienced folk (love the you tube stuff). Sad that some other posters put that much effort into ridiculing others.

Ebonyallen for keeping on going - a truly inspirational young lady imo.

As well as the 'competition lot' e.g. Kerilli, Baydale, Tigers_Eye etc, it would probably have to be LauraWheeler and the absolutely unconditional love she shows her ponies :)

For me it would be Sarah_Jane :) I have followed and enjoyed her reports, and winced at the crashing fall she had yet still continued, and to be now in the situation in but still sounding happy and positive is a great role model.

Wishing her well and back in the saddle soon !

:o:o *blushes* Thankyou, I enjoy your posts too!

There are lots of people here whose posts I enjoy reading, I can't remember all their names to mention! Rhino, Mike007, cremedemonthe, splashgirl45 and several others have been especially encouraging when I was feeling low.

Ebonyallen's story is of course an inspiration and Annielusian always seems a lovely person.

Off the top of my head the person whose posts make me want to cheer most often is probably DragonSlayer.

This is a nice thread! I would love to one day be one of the people that inspires! lol.

For me its Princess Sparkle. Her dressage ability is amazing, and I want to be like that, one day I will!!!!

Ebonyallen for her determination, & Janetgeorge is my hero as she is always kind & diplomatic in her answers no matter how daft the questions may seem, also she is super knowledgeable but never condescendeding!

JanetGeorge for giving me some advice on my mare and all the other advice she posts on the forum.
Wagtail - I like her attitude to her horses. She comes across as a real horse lover
Lionman - well she's just Lionman!
4faults, Chellebean, Moggy in Manolos who all sent me lovely Pms when I lost my horse recently.
Oberon gives good barefoot advice.

I don't know if the word is "inspirational", but the above are certainly people I respect and I read their posts and take notice of their advice.

There are too may more to mention - in fact I find the majority of posters lovely and helpful.

I have loads whose posts I look out for and who impress/inspire me in different ways. Kokopelli, has been through so much yet is still getting stuck in and working hard and always willing to offer kind words, Benson21, another who despite having had an awful time is still on hand for those who need support. S'teamed, Lionman, Wagtail and Amymay - all know their stuff and can be relied upon for stating it how it is (which I prefer any day to telling you what you want to hear). There are also those that make me smile and just seem to brighten the place up.

Ebonyallen. If you don't know why by just seeing the name then find out. You will, without doubt, be inspired to.

And laurawheeler, because of Lucy.

Ebonyallen, for being so driven and overcoming her issues.

Annielusian, for persevering with a difficult boy and always being bright and cheerful in her responses.. and for the lovely thing she did for ebonyallen a week or so back.

Trish C for doing some fantastic artwork for me.. I still have to pay her!

Alec Swan for kind, supportive PMs regarding a personal problem.

Cuppatea for her entrepreneurial spirit re: horses in hunters..

Mithras for PMing me simply because I live near somewhere she used to live.

And probably quite a few others! - anyone who kindly responded to my sad soapbox thread last week, anyone who responds to my daft questions, and anyone who manages to remain level headed, polite and helpful online, retaining the decorum expected in real life ;)

Janet George, sensible, well informed, calm advice. Pedantic....fabulous down-to-earth hacking info. I'm secretly in love with him...twas the bridge that did it :-D
Cave Canem, who pops in once in a while with brilliant dog stuff. Wagtail also, very intelligent advice. Kokopelli for her sheer guts.

Wow there are so many.

Georgeous George stands out for me as she inspires me to grap hold of the nerves and go for it just as she does, as does Mrs Mozart. Then Kerilli, S'teamed, Tigers eye, Tarrsteps are a few that I enjoy reading their posts. THen we have a sprinkling of others that I lurk reading their reports and loving the photos/videos such as Baydale, Princess sparkle (well if her exracer can do that so can mine!!) and her sister to name a few

Wishing her well and back in the saddle soon !

Thanks you (passes £10 over hope that is enough?) :D

For me it is Baydale fighting injury and cancer and still pulling out the results and having her witty sense of humour.

N'awww aliceeventing131 didn't see your post :p haha :D it's a nice feeling being able to help!

Also there's lots of people that u love reading their comments and really sorry to you but I recognise your sigs not necessarily your names

Gosh thank you to those who said me (blushes furiously) - I struggle to imagine being inspirational to anyone  I am just very stubborn and as George is my first (and may well be my only) horse I want to make the most of it and try and do things I've always dreamt of :D

The next challenge is the invite to go and ride on the beach, I am scared I will be paralysed with fear if I go and spoil the trip for everyone else......so watch this space.

For me I love Mrs Mozart, her posts always inspire me :)
