Is there any reason one shouldn't bandage the whole leg?

As above. Accident prone TB (what else ) gets cellulitis any time he gets a scratch (and sometimes when he doesn't). Every precaution against it is being taken, but when I travelled him up to the vets last week (for an unrelated injury :rolleyes:) he must have kicked in the lorry, or in the stable at the vets, and cut his leg. Cue cellulitis. So, I'm having visions of said horse bandaged all the way up the leg! I'm sure people will think I'm crazy, but does anyone know any practical reasons why I shouldn't do this?

I think they would just slip down unless it was a Thomas Jones (? name) splint type thing with loads of gamgee/cotton wool under it. If you do try it make sure you leave the bumpy bones round his knees bare or he will be red raw from them rubbing as he moves. How well padded is your transport, would it not be more practical to do something with it?

Hmm, I checked the lorry and couldn't find any edges that he might have knocked, so really have no idea how he managed it. Could possibly have been from loading/unloading, as he randomly decided to be a toad (usually loads well). I was thinking maybe of trying knee boots with bandage pads underneath that reach furthur up the leg?? Or does anyone know of any leg wraps that protect the forearm?
