So, my current share horse had an English saddle that fit(s) him nicely, but unfortunately his owner sold it to her daughter. Daughter is on the same yard, and rides rarely, and I can borrow it so long as we're not riding at the same time, but obviously it's not ideal. His owner has said that she's totally fine with me getting my own saddle for him (owner rides in a Western saddle), so I'd like to identify as much info about this one as I can to help with my search for another one.
I can tell that this one is very similar to Steubbens of the same era, but I've sent Steubben the serial # (23830), and they've already confirmed their archives don't go that far back, and can't give me any information. Does anyone know any other sources of info on these saddles? Googling has turned up pretty much nothing but a few used saddle ads.
Photo of the currently-fitting shared saddle in question, for reference. I have more pictures if they would be useful!
(Yes, a saddle fitter would be ideal, but there is a dearth of fitters in the area. Yes, I'll take tracings shopping with me.)
