I went to see a 16month old gelding today. He was gorgeous. The owner bought him last August from a lady who claimed the sire was a warmblood (but also gave them a microchip no that belonged to a dog so can't be trusted!). He's standing at 15hh at the moment. I'm sure I remember something about measuring their cannon bone & converting the inches into hands?! Does that actually work?!!!

i think its measure behind the knee to coronet band (?)

i think!(!(!)

i measured mine and it was 15 inches - = 15hh ! shes 14.1 at the moment at 2 so about right id imagine :)

This blog lists a few of the methods that can theoretically be used and other handy info :).

String test made mine out around 17.2hh+ if memory serves me correctly, she is 17.1hh currently (age 4yo WB) so will be interesting to see what she ends up as, her parentage is known but dam around 16hh sire 16.1 or 2hh.
