Is there any way to trace the un-passported horse?

I have a Welsh mare, I'd love to know her breeding.

But she arrived without a passport before they were made compulsory.

Any ideas?

Does she have a 'registered' name? You could try tracing the stud by her prefix if that's the case. Could you contact the person who sold her to you? Not sure what else to suggest but good luck.
