Is there anyway I can check the age of a saddle?

Need to sell a saddle, and looked online for 'saddle sellers' who take a percentage of the value (rightly so). However, in small print, it states, it doesn't take saddles over 10 years old, (nor any narrow fit saddles). I got this saddle second hand, some 7 or 8 years ago, but no idea how 'new' it really was when I got it!!

Don't think it can be classed as 'good' but;

Does that work?

Does it have a serial number stamped in? Stubben saddles do and if you drop them an e-mail they'll give you all the saddles details inc make, width. size etc., never tried with other manufacturers but without a serial number I'd guess it's down to their judgement on the wear on the saddle - unless it's a model not been made to 10 years

No not really clear enough and need a few at various angles. As Polo's Mum has said, may have a serial number but if it's fairly old it may have worn off the sweat flap. Other way but is a saddler job is to drop panel out and look at long webs or springs, most have details written on them of possibly size, type,who made it and when or another serial number that can be traced back via manufacturer.
Look at springs on this one, see the writing?
