My horse has been on Sugar beet and livery nuts for years. She has always been a crazy fizz ball so decided to take some action.

She is now on Bailey's No 17 and she has chilled out so much I actually think there might be something wrong. Or, I have actually made the right decision and just being paranoid.

Has anyone else experienced this?????

Depends if you want her to be chilled out!
The change in feed (if its the only change you've made) sounds responsible for her calming down but if you're really worried, get her checked over!
Don't know how much they cost but maybe a nutritionist?
Good luck xD

As far as I know, Sugarbeet has quite a high sugar content, therefore releasing a lot of energy. This may make your horse fizzy.
I'm not sure what's in Bailey's No. 7, but your horse my be calmer because it does not have as much sugar as the sugarbeet feed she had before.

And did you change her feed gradually in stages??

Elizabeth: I changed her feed 2 weeks ago. Upon advice I removed the SB immediately but kept the livery nuts consistent.

She is now on Mix and nuts....

Both my horses went loopy on sugarbeet, swappped to unmollassed sugar beet and still mad so I dont feed it.

I've known horses to be nutty on bog standard sugar beet and a couple that it disagreed with and gave them the runs. Have you tried Speedibeet or Kwikbeet since both are unmolassed (so no added sugar) but are still highly palatable, are high fibre and make a meal good and wet so no choking. Doesn't seem to have helped Louby's neds but might be worth trying out?
