Im really lucky where I am in that I have lots of good hacking, you could literally be out all day. There is a few places along the way where I can stop to get horsey a drink of fresh water, but they all run from a tap.....So question is. Is there such a thing as a foldable water container that you can carry with you in your pocket or something that you can fill up when needed?
Iv seen ones for dogs but reckon they would be a tad small.

Yes. I had one, I gave it away. It folded flat into my pocket.

Google "folding dog bowl" and a load of different ones come up.

How about a foldable washing up bowl?
You can get them from most camping shops, sometimes they're in the backpacking or lightweight section.
I have one, which is 30x30cm at the top, and 17cm deep, it folds pretty small, it's light weight, and if memory serves, it was under a fiver. Don't have a horse to carry water to with it, but it holds my dish/washing/bike cleaning water when I'm cycle touring, and doesn't leak or collapse.
