As above really. my boy has just begun box rest for a check ligament injury and is really bored after only 3 days. He already has grass blocks in a mini haynet, but he demolished his likit within a day and I know they're not very healthy! just wondered if there's anything else that will fit in a likit holder that's healthier!

TIA

I thread string through a mixture of root vegetables and hang up near the middle of the stable so they can't just pin them to the wall. It keeps them busy for ages, especially swedes because they can't quite get their mouths around them!

my two year old gets the Uncle Jimmy's no added sugar licks, they fit in a lickit holder and last him about three days

I don't think for a second they are healthy but they seem the best of a bad lot

Is it the Likit holder one, or a boredom buster type? If the latter, I soak lo-cal balancer type nuts in warm water. Once soaked, squish them into either both or only one side, before re hanging in stable. You can also grate carrot & apple, (with a tiny bit of molasses or honey to stick it together), before freezing. Perhaps some would argue not the healthiest Likit replacement, but healthier than Likits themselves. Hope your horse has a complication-free recovery, and that he recovers soon. :)
