now don`t laugh but it`s raining so whilst sat about waiting for it to pass an idea has come to me.

would it be possible to build a field shelter out of tyres???

i saw a Grand Designs on channel 4 ages about a family who built a house this way.rods were poked down the the tyres and they were packed with dirt rammed in hard.

is this toooooooo crazy?

Don't see why not but you may hit Local Authority planning regs!

A friend saw that too but you might do better with straw bales. Saw plans for one once which were a basic 3 sided shelter, poles on the corners and simple tin roof roped on. Just don't try and hide a house behind it like someone else did

They would stink in the hot weather and conduct loads of heat to the inside of the shelter I would think
