I've recently started sharing my horse. He was diagnosed with mild arthritic changes to the pasterns late last year and has had quite a while off work, however, he is now being lightly ridden each day, although not allowed to jump anymore or do prolonged fast work.
I advertised for an adult sharer for him, three days a week. I was upfront from the start about his arthritis as I didn't want to mislead anyone as to what his capabilities were.
He's a full livery horse (approximate cost to me per month inclusive of everything - farrier etc. of £800.00)
I am asking for a contribution of £100.00 per calendar month for a three day per week share, to include one weekend day. He is on a yard with excellent facilities - indoor/outdoor schools etc and obviously no mucking out or other stable duties.
Do you think this is a fair price to ask?
