I have just bought a 5 year old unbroken Oldenburg and somewhat concerned about his stance. When in his stable he stands with his back legs under him, yet when he is out he is sound (and when being lunged), he has a clicking stifle (not been diagnosed by the vet, just my prognosis from the research I have done). He has poverty lines (just been wormed) and his back end looks more like a 3 year olds, could he just be weak behind or possibly something more sinister going on?? When being tacked up (girthed) he has started to lift his back leg on the side I am doing the girth. My gut feeling is hind gut problems but just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience and the horse improved with time. He is out at grass which will do him the world of good.
