I hope the link below works.

There seems to be like, a small layer/chunk of the front of my boy's hoof missing, seems like it might be from where the nail goes through but I'm not sure. The stuff on the bottom right hand of the hoof is just mud, I hope it's clear what I'm talking about.

Is this an issue? And if so, what can I do to fix it?

If you mean the mark about 3/4 of the way down, it looks like an old bit of coronet band area, or abscess damage growing out and is nothing to worry about. The mark at the bottom, looks like a chip - again, nothing to worry about. Both will grow down and get trimmed off once they reach the bottom.

Don't worry about it, it will grow out, horses get chips and marks in their hooves all the time. The higher up one might have been caused by the farrier when he was clenching the nails. If you are still worried when you next have the farrier you can ask him about it.
