Right I freely admit I came across this through some googling to try and make sense of the Bank End thingy...which I failed at, so no idea who this is or if it's any relation to Bank End/whoever else (faaar too complex for my tiny mind). However that's clearly an emotive topic so let it be clear I am not making any comment on that particular can of worms in any way. But I did have to post this!

It would seem these horses are for sale, and they are trying to show them off, which is commendable. But on such a busy road?! Holding up traffic, not thanking anyone, no reflectives, and what exactly is a tentative shuffle down this road and back meant to prove, really? Also these girls are clearly being put up on pretty unknown quantities and sent off down this road, yet no body armour is being worn. Do their parents know they're doing this?!

Don't really have an issue with it tbh, apart from the lack of reflectives on such a busy road...

Body armourwise I never wear one myself anyway, Hat and that's it - xc [other than when it's compulsory at events], hunting, etc. So for me, I don't have an issue with body armour personally. Hat's the main thing :)

I used to ride on roads like that and that's the reason I got into the habit of wearing lots of HI Viz, it really does make a difference to how the traffic treats you.

Where did you get that video?

I was asking about a project horses a while ago and was told my someone on here a friend had a lovely chestnut just wanted a genuine home for him.

They sent me a video of the exact things that i have just seen on the same road, but it was a different horse!

Is it a dealer?
They didnt mention that to me!

it is or was a dealers yard and she used to post videos like that on horsemart with the for sale ads to demonstrate what they were like in traffic. In principal I think its not a bad way to show that the horse isnt a nutter with traffic, can hack out but agree that good sense should prevail and high viz and courtesy to other road users should be used!

Looks totally barmy to me - right on top of a roundabout too so traffic even busier.

Yes, I can see the logic of making sure the horse is happy in traffic but to keep crossing such a busy stretch of road and especially without hi viz is bordering on gross negligence.

I suspect the police would not be impressed by their antics.

I thought she was very silly riding in those weather conditions on such a busy road without any reflectives, she was also discourtious to the drivers and blanked those that did slow for her... bad horsemanship IMO

Saying 'thank you' (a wave, smile or nod of the head if safe) to drivers is very important.

so where to they get these horses from??

the unsuspecing public???

(Which is why im VERY wary about 'rescue' homes...)!...'

I got it when I googled Bank End, unsure now exactly how! Though I do not think that these guys are them? Others on here will know the answer to that. I ended up on a site advertising horses for sale, each one seemed to be for sale at £2.5k and I got a bit suspicious as the horses looked...odd, and not the ages they were meant to be. Each one had a vid, hence my visit to the album on YouTube.

Yes they look like dealers to me, if you look at the entire album they do the same thing with each horse they have.

Did you go/are you going to see the horse?? I'd advocate caution if you do. Just gut feel from their site and these vids!

They also seem to be doing this at rush hour. V intelligent, wonder how much prep is done to check the horses' reactions to traffic prior to this. Or are these girls just legged up and off they go?!

In one vid too (can't remember which now) it seemed to have been edited, in the bit where the horses are ridden down the far side of the road, you saw the horse get to the other side then it cuts to the end of the verge where the girl crosses it back over the road again. Think it was a mare and that it looked very tense. All just looks like an accident waiting to happen to me. And imagine those drivers cursing!!!

Oh and the other thing which rang alarm bells, was that no history was supplied in any of the horses' ads. One was meant to be 12 and had "hunted all season", it had not a scrap of muscle on it and to me looked very oddly put together and much like a young horse in its gangly late yearling phase!

I also cringed when the white van comes at the end  You would not catch me riding in traffic like that.... but I am a wuss. I don't care how bompproof your horse is. So many things could happen and it screams "car accident" to me at the very least. I'll stay on my country roads and trails thank you :)
