Hello all
Back on the forum after a couple of months of not being here...feels like I've missed an awful lot, but hope you are all well and the same for your horses/ponies too.
Late last year I had an wee accident preventing me from riding for a little while, and during that time, my OH was exercising my mare for me. Turns out that he gets on with her better than he does with me..!
And they have built up a really nice partnership- he doesn't ask too much from her, she gives only the bare minumum and he adores her and she adores him. I don't have the heart to barge in and start riding her again, as I think he has adopted her!! Which just leaves me with the old boy and Jack who is coming along so nicely now...but I feel like I want one more 'project'.
I'm no longer 39 anymore
...gulp. I don't bend or bounce how I used to, but in general I'm in good shape, and I am considering buying a youngster and starting from scratch with them...do you think its do-able and more importantly sensible? Obviously, I would get help along the way with braking in (if not broken already) and training etc, but this would probably be the last youngster I get now.
Basically, what I'm asking here is whether anyone else of a similar age has done something like this, and whether they would do it again/wouldn't do it again? Is it a good idea? Or am I being unrealistic?
High five if you got this far
