On saturday the person that is going to be loaning my horse is collecting him but i wont be there.....
Basically the story is....i bough horse in march as a laid back happy hacker/allrounder to have fun....turned out he isnt and is extremely difficult as in napps, bucks, rears, bronks, leaps, plunges etc. So i have made the heartbreaking decision to part with him. Rather than sell him...as this would prob be a one way ticket to the meat man i am putting him out on loan to an old owner of his who had a great relationship with him and really wants him back but due to university fees and having 1 horse already she cant afford to buy him at the moment but works with problem horses and has been the only person that has got on with him. I love him dearly as when he is nice he is lovely, but working 6 long days a week i dont have the time that a horse like that needs. We both want to make sure that his future is secured, so she is going to have him on loan from me for 2 years and then buy him from me.
I have got a loan agreement in place etc.
As she needs to get someone to drive down with her trailer between trying to get that organised and my work etc she hasnt been able to collect him yet. I am away this weekend and the following weekend i am working and cant get out of that.
So i have said that she can come and collect him on saturday. I wont be there but will get my side of the loan agreement signed and witnessed ready to leave for her to do the same on saturday.
My mum will be there to give her his stuff and also to sort out the loan agreement etc. My mum is not really horsey as in wont be leading him into the trailer etc, but this girl is happy to put his travel gear on and do that.
Is it really silly for me not to be there. I will be distraught to see him go as i love him so much so maybe from the point of view that i will be in bits its best that im not there, but part of me is thinking that i should be there even though its a case of loading him etc.
The reason its come to this is because otherwise he will be with me for another 2 weeks, which isnt a problem, but i have stopped riding him and its time that she can be spending with him whislt she is on a break from uni.
Is it a really stupid idea??
