Am looking at different yards as may end up moving horses closer to work in the near future. Rang one yard which sound great, lovely facilities and knowledgeable YM to go onto assisted D.I.Y. Was quoted £70 a week per horse to include, all feed (nuts, chaff etc), hay or haylage, 2 bales of shavings a week and horses done at one end of the day (feed, rug & t/o, or b/i, rug and feed) 7 days a week.
20x60 floodlit rubber school, horse walker and individual turnout with post and rail, yard is in Surrey.

Does this sound reasonable?

If you are happy with the feeds they use and quantities of hay/haylage you are allowed, and the school is available and not too crowded when you think you will want to use it then I think it sounds like a good price with those facilities!

That sounds good! I only pay 120 p/m for 2 but once you buy in haylage, shavings and feed I bet I pay close to that - and I have to do them twice a day! Roll on summer so I can have a lay in! Lol!

Sounds good for Surrey.

I reckon it costs me that on DIY without any services but I use approx 3 bales shavings a week (winter) and am free to feed as much as I like. As the weather has been so good I've fed less hay than normal this winter so would be even more expensive.

DIY Livery pcm £150 £34.62 a week
Hay 2.5 bales a week @ £4.50 a bale £11.25
Shavings x3 @ £6.00 a bale £18.00
Hard Feed approx £25 £6.00
TOTAL £69.87

However I would check what range of feeds are offered and how much hard feed and forage was included because if you have to buy extra on top it could begin to be quite expensive. If you need to feed more than is included then check prices and whether you can only buy from them.
