Riding on an empty beach ...... can it get any better? I suppose some sun would make it perfect, but you can't have everything :)

Theres something about riding on a beach. :D Everyone should do it. :)
I'm so glad I took Lucy in the end even though it was Jan, had just snowed and was -3 I had a fantastic morning.
I hope to take Herbs one day soon. :)
Your beach looks amazing the one I go to looks rubbish compared to that. :(

Had some of my best times with Benson there at Camber! (thats Camber in my signature) Especially remember once you have ridden to take them up into the dunes on the left hand side of the cafe by the car park and let them have a good roll!! benson absolutely loved doing that!

I really want to do this!!!
What time of year are you allowed to ride at camber?

Oct - March - you can ride anytime, you just need to check the tides.

March - Oct - You can ride before 7am or after 7pm (I think that is right)

I only live 15 mins away so we box there a couple of times a week in the winter as our hacking just turns to mud - the going is always great on the beach :)

Perfect!!! :D I'm lucky enough to live near lots of big beaches too so we enjoy our freedom on them. Most of ours are not restricted either so a summers evenings dip is often in order!! The reason I moved here was to be able to school my horse on a beach...and it's worth it!!

jsr - that sounds great, what area is that? it would be perfect to ride in the summer during the day :)

I'm on Anglesey in North Wales, the major tourist beaches are no go..not restricted just too many people! But most of the other beaches we can ride on anytime. I've got one near me that's huge when the tide is out and only local people know it's there because it's hidden down country tracks so it's fabulous!! You can really let rip and not worry..although was on it last saturday and nearly parted company with Kane because the biggest jelly fish I've ever seen was splatted on the beach...he usually isn't bothered by things on the beach but he went through the roof..even my dog took a detour round that thing!!!

That looks gorgeous! It reminds of the West Sands here in town (where Chariots of Fire and Coldplay's Yellow vid were filmed - gorgeous beach), which my yard has a direct path onto in low tide. However, they don't DO hacks cos of the insurance - AARGH! I either need to go away to a different beach or steal a privately owned horse, but it will happen. A view like that from horseback is just too good to miss out on!

That must be so frustrating!!!! I'd 'accidentally' go down the track and have a gallop...whoops horse spooked onto the beach!!!:D
