Is this the start of artheritis?

Ive never had experiances with artheritis before, my 17 year old who is very fit, is showing signs of being lame/stiff on both front feet not sure about the back ones, when he gets up from lying down in his stable, he will take about 6 strides lame/stiff then will walk normal, is it the start of artheritis.

Could be, what does your farrier say? What are the feet like?

That's how it started in both of my oldies... stiffness after lying/standing which wore off. Best thing you can do is keep them active and out if possible, stabling even overnight tends to make it worse. There are various supplements but I have mine on apple cider vinegar, linseed oil and also no-bute in cold/damp weather.

He has only started it this week, {blacksmith not due yet} he has good feet. He does live out and only comes in, in the morning for a snooze and ride.
