Hi

Just had to have a rant about this as i am so annoyed.

I am desperately looking for a new horsebox as mine finally went to heaven last month and so far have looked at several boxes that havent turned out to be right or big enough. Am out competing most weekends at the moment im having to borrow a friends.

Anyway i saw a lorry advertised on horsequest yesterday so i called about it and it transpired that it was only down the road and it looked perfect. I asked if i could go first thing yesteday morning as i didnt want to miss it, and they agreed. I knew the people as we bought a pony from them years ago. I loved the lorry and drove it and said yes i would buy it straight away subject to my mechanic checking it over and giving it the thumbs up. They immediately said that they wanted me to arrange this straight away so he went first thing this morning. He then called to say that it required £1500 of work doing on it before he would be happy for me to take my beloved horses out in it. I called them straight away and made an offer at less than the asking price based on the fact that it was going to cost me so much to get on the road and they said no. But it didnt matter becuase they had shown it to someone else even though i had said i wanted it, and they had said that they would have it if i didnt.

SO why have i just logged on the website where its being advertised and seen that they have added STILL FOR SALE DUE TO TIMEWASTER! i do not think i wasted their time - just pointed out that they were trying to sell a lorry that was not safe to transport horses in.

Am i a timewaster???

I don't thin you are timewasting, but does the price reflect that it needs work? Also if it's the one I have just looked at (may be wrong) it does have a years plat, so maybe they just felt a bit miffed, as undoubtedly they would have just spent out on it.

Hi

The mechanic checked the plate and it runs out in November this year. I wouldnt have minded if the advert had said that it needed work hence the price!

Im fairly sure it was aimed at me!

I only want a nice horsebox to take my ponies out in.

some people can be so horrid....dont know if you have read my post on the previous page... things like that really make me mad, and they have the potential of really upsetting someone.

I know its not as if they dont know me either - i used to ride their show ponies for them donkeys years ago and bought a pony from them so they know im straight forward! They are clearly just desperate for the money!

People make me laugh re-advertising horses due to time wasters. I looked at 20 horses before I bought one, so maybe I'm a time waster. At the end of the day if its not worth the money, or not exactely what your looking for then thats fair enough.

No I don't think you're a time waster.I'm currently selling a horse and have had a couple of time wasters. The first told me they had been riding for over 3 years and were looking for a confidence giver to jump and go hunting with. When they arrived they had obviously never done more than walk on a horse and didn't have a clue what they were doing so no way was I prepared to sell to them and the second came and rode my horse out twice, seemed perfect in every way, booked a vetting and asked me not to sell him to anyone else and then at the last minute decided they wanted to loan rather than buy a horse and asked me to loan him to them instead of them buying him.Bearing in mind I had turned away numerous prospective buyers in the meantime as they seemed set on having him I am now stuck with a horse who I have since had no interest in whatsoever despite stating on my ad that I am readvertising due to time wasters.
