Is this to much to expect.. (sold horse, new owner)

I dont see how I marketed, or how much the how much the horse was has anythig to do with it.

as it happens july she went up for sale, but was removed from the market after a very bad accident.

the people still had my details, and i invited them to view. they knew about accident,

she is a show horse, the season has ended its her down time, also due to husband attempting suicide, closing my business etc i have other things on my mind. i hope this answers your question as to why i sold a half fit competiton horse.

just for the record she was 5 stage vetted so the vet would of seen her fitness level and reported back.

Sounds like from your reply you have a lot of angst in your life - i am sorry for you, But if you decide to sell a horse, then you have to (sadly) accept that it might not be all good - maybe try putting it on loan (with masses of conditions) if you really want to retain control?

hi, i bet baby is glad to be home!
well done, i hope that you can rehome her to a good and knowledgeable hime, I also wish you and OH the best in your future together, big hugs xxxxxx

Gosh - what a horrible situation for you. You must be worried about so many things! I'm glad she's coming back to you and I'm sure you'll find her the kind of home she deserves. She looks and sound gorgeous! Fingers crossed for you. x

So sorry to hear all is not right. She is a lucky mare to have someone care enough to take her back. You have been very generous with these people and I hope they appreciate the opportunity you gave them.

Every good wish for a happy future for her and you x

I wont loan, in the past 4 years ive had 2 loans go wrong, one horse was olwtb. 10 weeks he had be gone and i had daily contact with new people. I went down to see him and collect the first installment and well what i found was a rspca case. I went the next day with a trailer and crow bar (wanted tack back) removed horse got it home, got a vet and called the rspca.

loan 2,. suddenly had to come home, turn out they tried to hide a tendon injury, horse was a night mare in general, evil reared bucked etc but had been a star, she was a showjumper, I LUCKILY had a very strong loan agreement and managed to keep horse insured so i could claime, but it still cost me over a grand, to get the horse right.

I fully accept that a horse is sold i loose control, this is why i try and protect them a little, with like in this case a trial, if they pee me off or im not happy I take the horse back simple.

problem is as mentioned people not lie as such but they make the right noises at the time.

I think you are missing the point though.....the mare had NOT been paid for, so therefore until money changed hands, the mare is still the legal property of the OP, who is well within her rights to take the horse back.
JH I am glad your mare is now home with you, and I hope the right home comes along that both you and she are happy with.

Poor you, it sounds as though you have had a really stressful time. Thank goodness you had arranged a trial period as at least it meant you could get your horse straight back. Sadly, I know from past experience that some people are really convincing and sound just right but in reality aren't always as they seem. Your mare is lucky to have you, how many times have I read on here when sales have gone wrong but the owner either can't or won't take the horse back. Good luck to you both in the future, I hope you can find her a lovely, genuine home.

Im no use at all really, ive just read all your posts and I just wanted to wish you the best of luck of finding your girl a nice home.

:)

I'd be getting my horse out of there asap. If they work her this much when they don't own her they will probably work her into the ground when they own her. I wouldn't want that for my horse think you have been more than generous with trial

Just to say I hope it all went well with your collection today and give yourself a bit of a break over this too - you did your absolute best and it didn't work out. Hope your mare comes good soon and things start to improve for you shortly too.

Sorry the sale didn't work out for Ellie this time but there is the right person for her out there somewhere. She is such a special, sweet horse but needs someone to ride her sensitively and bring her on gently.

That special person is out there somewhere; perhaps she will find the person she wants to be with, meantime am so sorry to hear about everything that's been happening with you and sending best wishes from me and mine. Mine sends whinnies to yours, plus hugs from me. Just hang in there hun coz things can only get better.

Just wanted to say hugs and good vibes for everthing to pick up for you and OH soon and best of luck in finding a lovely home for your beautiful mare. So sorry you have had another bad experiencea and wishing you better luck for the future x

The right home is out there. I picked up my new mare today. The old owner and one of the liveries actually said to me that they would normally be bawling their eyes out, but they know I'm the right person for her, and instead of being upset they are glad shes going to the right home. It made me :D to know that I'm happy, the mares happy and the old owners are happy. Its a nice feeling to know its the right horse for me and the right home for her :D
