the yard worming programme at current place seems abit odd to me.
does anyone else used equest and equimax?horses have had 2 does of equest 13 weeks apart but they also had a dose of equimax before they moved onto the summer paddocks...
are they safe to use like that?!i always thought you had to use equest and them something that just does tapeworm like equitape..?!

Its totally safe but the second dose of Equest is unnecessary.
If they wormed with Equest mid winter then they have targeted encysted redworn. In spring you then target tapeworm, which the Equimax deals with amongst most else excepting encysted redworm.
If they want to use Equest spring, then Equitape can be used alongside, or a single dose of Pramox will do everything.
I used Equest mid winter, and have dosed spring with Equimax. They will be done with Equest next.
What they are doing probably isnt doing any harm, but is an expensive way of going about things.

Im going the Equest next after using Equimax in the spring. HOwever, i am interested in trying the herbal wormers.... mainly because my old boy really suffers when hes wormed, its just too strong.
Anyone used the herbal alternative?
