I couldn't help but notice Stella's waist tonight--it is miniscule! She does drop weight in winter, but this year has been extra active, with her agility classes, and new pal Catfish to keep up with.

So, would you say your dogs are skinny, just right, overweight or what?

Tink is usually a fat blob when shes here, dropping it all when we go back home, but shes kept it off well this time

and dougal...argh

too much hair to tell, and im sure as anything not touching his ribs...hed eat me

My dogs are all beautifully slim and muscular. They run so much and are outdoors all the timeso don't have time to laze around getting fat.

Your dogs ought to have a word with the suburban Labs up in CT. Four acres apiece and you see some right blobby corkers

The old collie, 13, is fat, ish, the 18 month old Husky by all rights should be fat the ammount of stuff she eats - like me really

- but is skinny and musculuar, all down to hours of darting around at 100 miles a minute.

All mine are pretty slender and muscular...esp my rotti...she is on the go all the time

I can honestly say I have never had an over weight dog...even though they are all neutered

i think my rotti looks just right.
but strange behavour this morning....we went to do the pons as usual, came back down and she had her breakfast, then she always goes back to bed,but today, wall of death around the backs of the sofas, galloping on the spot on the slippery floor, raced upstairs and scattered the pillows.5 mins of being a complete loony.what do you think all that was in aid of?she is about 7.

Boris is one year old JRT and is slim and musuclar! he runs like a whippet on short legs! He dashes around the house after his wet walk!

My Parents had bassets they were slim but very loose skinned!!! The last basset was an american basset he was very musuclar!

I have one really solid but slim collie, a very slim but soft lurcher, a slightly tubby lurcher who was tubbier when I got her and is slimming down slowly and my new baby who's a skinny as a rake lurcher but she's old and been stressed in the pound for 2 weeks before being a stray so she's building up slowly. HATE fat dogs with a passion. People who say they love there pets so much they feed them ham and sausage rolls because 'if it's good enough for me its's good enough for them' make me mad

I think mine is about right - he is very slim and muscular - especially for a lab... but he is very active. I feed him actually quite alot of food, but he obviously needs it. If anything he could do with an extra couple of pounds but there are days he prefers not to eat all of his food.

I have promised myself he will never be a fat lab... really upsets me to see them...

Beastie is a curcy lady! Soft around the edges

Although she is on a diet to lose a little bit as vet recommended we get spare weight off ehr now before she starts to get too old.

Tina is typical lab and is prone to weight gain, especially after being spayed. However, she is out working every week now the shooting season has started and is dropping weight steadily and has muscled up. She really thrives on work and looks in fantastic condition at the min.

Cindy is going through the lanky/awkward puppy stage and is growing like a weed!

Our jack russel is probably just right. The staffie x border looks right and is fairly solid muscle. The jack russel x hound is slightly on the skinny side, but only because he's constantly running around! He gets fed plenty and is well muscled.
I too hate seeing fat dogs and their owners thinking they love them!

Heidi - Very deep GSD, probably a touch too heavy (she weighs over 8 stone but she has big bones!)
Skye - A touch under weight but she's building herself back up after having her pups.
Brier - normal
Nero - normal but he's got alot of filling out to do.
Beano - FAT!
Gnasher - Getting a touch too fat.

my collie is slender as always on the go and at the mo my rottie is skinny he had worms when i got him and is really hard to put weight on cannot wait to get him done so will hopefully put it on then, i think stella looks fine that pic would make her look small as my dogs always suck in their waists when eating and drinking it looks horrid lol

Oh, good. She is very muscular and not a small build, which is why I was a tad aghast.

She's rather proud of her muscles

I'd say she's in good condition. Wouldn't want any more off her though.

We've got 2 fatsos - the old girl and my Millie, I think it's mostly middle age spread!! LOL

Stanley's a bit too thin at the moment, we're trying to get the weight back on, not helped by the fact Mouse is in season!!

The others are just right, though very muscley! Darcy has muscles on her muscles.

I was thinking about this earlier, Star was looking a bit chunky so I cut her food down and this morning she looked really skinny! I made her a sandwich

But I think she is probably normal.

Alfie (border terrier) - normal but still a bit scrawny - needs to fill out still
Willow (border terrier) - very chunky but she does run around a lot, but she is overweight I guess
Buffy (Staff x) - slim and very well muscled, best condition of the lot I reckon
Fudge (JRT) - looks a bit like a little body builder but not fat, just chunky!

My Whippet boys are slim and fit with good muscle tone....both neutered males, now Eli's 7 I have to watch him cos he can thieve for england and would easily pile it on if we let him please himself
smile.gif

It winds me up when oh-so funny friends take the piss out of my fit healthy boys, going 'god don't you ever feed those dogs?', they're whippets for gods sake!

Also can't abide stupid people who 'spoil' their dogs and let them get ridiculously fat, it's just another form of abuse.

Springer aged 4, shooting/beating/picking up once a week, could lose a bit but it fit and not tired the day after working.

Whippet spot on, muscly but covered, easy to put weight on/take it off him - greedy though!

Terrier thing - about 8 months old, bit too slim as spends all day chasing the whippet! He can't stop for a moment as she bites his legs if he does!

Both mine are at jsut the right weight. Millie was very thin when we got her from the rescue, she was stressed in the kennels, so when I fist had have out I got a lot of dirty looks, but was happy to eplain when she was that thin. My jack russell was born with 2 heart defects so I am very careful with his weght. I have to agree, hate seeing fet dogs.
