Hi, has anyone removed the Isabel Werth dressage saddle overgirth/second girth?

Were there any negative effects (flaps riding up or anything unexpected?).

Got caught in a gate with mine recently and trying to decide if I should cut the whole thing off or pay saddler to fix! Don't have much money at the moment.

Yes! I found it really irritating and couldn't see what it did any way, so I took a sharp pair of scissors and freed my saddle from the stupid strap. The saddle suffered no ill effects from being permanenty separated from the extra girth strap!

I've frequently been tempted to cut if off. Have never really seen the point of it .. but thought that was me! So glad others feel the same!

Excellent!
This will much cheaper than having it sown back on (esp as part of the panel is ripped as well, though only on the inside and not in a manner that would interfere with horse) ... It was not nice, being trapped in a gate and I'm glad the girth gave way, but it did leave me with a dilemma!
Thanks guys :)
