well saddle fitter been and it seems H is too fat-no suprise there! and so saddle now too narrow, he is dieting but feel like i need to get a wider saddle in the meantime (i haven't got a dressage saddle yet and am intending to buy one anyway), with the weight thing in mind am thinking of an isabell worth dressage saddle with cair, anyone got one/have opinions on them,
anyone selling one? am needing a 17.5 in mw but obviously can change the gullet anyway.
 
I love them, I've ridden many horses in them and really get on with them. But there are loads of people who dislike them too, so definately try one first. It really depends on whether you like being wedged into position or prefer to find your own position. I also find they're nicely padded for my non-existant backside! I wouldn't get a cair one though, they are not adjustable, rock solid, and cost more.
If you find an Isabell is too rigid for your liking I have a slightly flatter-seated version (the Wintec Pro dressage) in black, 17.5", VGC I need rid of. I love my Pro, it's just right as it's not too deep seated that I can't hack or even jump in it, but it's not so deep what I can't get out of the saddle (first time I sat in an Isabell I couldn't figure out how to get out as it was so lovely and deep!)
 
I begrudgingly bought one for my big boy and was truely amazed by how comfortable it was. Synthetics have come a long way in recent years.
 
If you are gonna buy a second hand one, make sure you take it apart and look at the points where the gullets screw in. I had heard that they are often found to be cracked/broken, didn't really believe it, checked one I was thinking of getting and guess what - cracked!

I emailed Wintec about cost of repairs and got nil response.
 
Hmm sorry, just re-read what I wrote and realised the end doesn't make much sense! I think I'm missing half a sentence in there... possibly...
