I have seen quite a few Iselham-competitors here on the forum,as I'll be revisiting an English event for the first time since,ooooo,1984, will be looking forward to meeting a few of you.

However,as I don't know either yourselves or your horses that well (apart from looking out for a certain 'green froggy like' person

) shall I carry some kind of flag or something?!!!

I'm there with my little grey mare - 81, dressage 11.06, SJ 11.59, XC 12.32. I'm only there as groom!

See sj_mummy, you have made a fundamental error in choosing to go to an East Anglian event in March for your first experience in 20 odd years

Isleham is generally only memorable for its Arctic conditions, blue-toned riders, officials and spectators and completely MENTAL horses having their first run on grass in 6 months - oh all right then, also its incredibly friendly welcome and the vast sums of money it raises for charity
wink.gif
What you really needed to do was to re-calibrate your compass and head West: don't stop in the middle anywhere, they're far too grand for the likes of us

just head for Gloucestershire, the West Country and, yes, maybe even Wales

Now WE would give you a good welcome

*goes back to checking that thermals are in good order*

Ooooh yeah I did - I KNEW there was a reason why I used to traipse from Wales to Isleham

Actually, the weather forecast looks oK(whispers quietly)

BTW I'm there Sun.

This year the charity is the Anglian Air Ambulance (it was used there at PC Areas)

A very worthy cause.

It's going to be a massive 11 degrees sj_mummy (*whispers* I won't tell her about the wind chill factor).

I'm on Saturday (Sect H 365) at 1439, 1623 and 1658 on HumungaHorse, then Sunday (Section O 724) 1408, 1525 and 1619 with Hector. The lorry (silver merc with turquoise stripe) has got a Kermit in the window (thanks to k9h

).

Ignore TableDancer, she's just jealous that she's not out this weekend with the very Pingy Pony. He'd love that icy Isleham wind up his bum so he could show off his repertoire of tricks.

Im there on both days
Sat (sect E 217) Tink, white mare and sun (sect I 434) Mary, little dark grey mare. In between riding the horse on sat i will be found in the dressage warm up with the sun horse trying to get her to understand dressage

Crepes are fantastic but im on a diet

Ah,but what you all don't know is that I'm really a 'fen' girl, born and bred, I can 'do' fen-weather,really!!!
wink.gif

Somewhere,I have an ace photo of me with my 'thelwell' pony doing a PC hunter trial at 'Clem's'. I'll try and look it out, for a real giggle!

My sister is competing on Sunday, I think she is 571, horse is called Cooking With Floyd. She's only recently moved to Suffolk and is used to eventing in the lovely West Country, she doesn't really know anyone over there if anyone wants to say hi.

So quick ID guide

SJ Mummy, dresses in an eskimo suit but with a tan. wincing at the eventing SJ's missing at fences

Baydale - Dressed like Kermit on a rather smart bay

Thistle - probably doing the 'harrassed mummy ' look, threatening to go home if daughter cannot be nervous and pleasant at the same time

Applechaff - strangely dressed in shorts with blue tinged legs - probably at the paramedics being treated for frostbite.

Any more to add?

Jemima - fat, grey haired with glasses and very muddy Grasmeres, usually to be found with her OH - tall, limps, dark balding hair, either wearing his ultra-embarrassing wooden soled clogs (hope not) or his "boy's version" Grasmeres (Rydals!), probably carrying shooting stick.

Will probably only be there on Saturday.

Also possibly Jemima's daughter - driving ancient blue Golf with "I'm too sexy for this car" sticker and interesting collection of bumps and scrapes which were actually acquired by car's previous owner. J's D has freckles and curly red brown hair (liver chestnut) and will probably spend most of her time near the crepe stand.

Will be there on Sunday to support the 'one leg' of our horse that is competing. OH can't make it but will be there with friend.

This is soooo exciting and can't wait!!!!
