Rosie has had a good day in the JON at Isleham and at the p2p. First Lottie - 36.2 DR, clear SJ and clear XC with 8.4 time (and she's an ex-racehorse - no wonder she was unsuccessful!). She was 9th but they were as pleased as punch with her.
Next Bertie - 26.7 DR, one down SJ but she said the strides weren't ideal for him, she asked for an extra one and he just touched it but he went nicely so she was pleased. Then he went clear XC with just 1.6 time. Nobody made the time and only one person went faster than he did - by .01 of a second! They ended up second, but we didn't find out until she'd come third in the Ladies Open at Higham - admittedly there were only 3 runners but the other 2 were superstars with a much higher rating than her horse and she led for two-thirds of the way and he wasn't jumping that well. Anyway - the owners were delighted and want her to ride for them again.
One happy but tired Rosie tonight methinks

Fantastic result with Bertie- sounds like she has improved him a lot already!!

She's got guts, p-t-ping would give me a nervous breakdown I think

I think he's actually beginning to trust her when they SJ which seems to be where the problems have been in the past which can only be good news - and maybe she's beginning to believe she's not that rubbish at dressage after all. They do work very hard THE_c - 6.15 start this morning, 5.30 yesterday

Thanks BBs. lifes_lemons, she does it the same way you all do - hard work and dedication. Oh, and so far she's been lucky enough not to get squashed. Hope you're feeling better

Thanks everybody. They were very pleased with both horses yesterday but particularly Bertie as it was their first event together. I gather they have to get 2 more clear XC as a new partnership before they can do Intermediate and therefore go to one of the junior spring selection one day trials - bit of a rush!

Thank you. We're all well chuffed (blimey, haven't used that expression for a few years!). The Intermediate qual for trials is a bit of a nightmare - by the time he'd shown he's up for it yesterday, Lincoln entries were already closed so I think they'll go for SoE and Hambleden and hope to get at least one of the necessary XC clears at Poplar next weekend - fingers xxxxd
