The amount of people on my yard, and I am particularly good friends with one or two of them.

The odd thing is my horse seems to pal up with my friends horses and not the others peoples horses that I don't really talk with on a regular basis.

Is it just one of those things or could there be something deeper about.

Does your horse do something like this as well...? or have any quirky habits that makes you smile?

Do you also ride out with these people and their horses? If so that could be one reason that they are doing this as they are familiar with the other horses and know that you are comfortable in their presence and owners.
Other than that not sure unless you make contact with the other horses and make a fuss of them and your horses are picking up on that?
Bit hard to comment really.
Have found that my own horses get on with pretty much anyones really. Only exception was a foul mare with few manners that even tried to corner me in a field one day and kick seven bells out of me. Good job it didn't as I would have borrowed the nearest gun and shot the damned thing myself. Don't do dangerous horses with no respect for human life!
This mare wasn't trying to get at my horses but me. Although I did see her being a shite with not only mine in the field but others too. She wasn't being field protective as mine had been there months before IT arrived! I didn't stay there very long after that!

Cant say my mare makes friends with others as we are not on a livery yard, but she pees herslf with excitment flashes her bits, winks and cocks her tail to one side evrytime she sees the chestnut up the road.........the owner is a right cow. I die of shame everytime and avoid that lane if I know the owner is there, my mare shows me no loyalty when it come to that pigging chestnut.

My gelding is in love with another gelding. A little chestnut. They know each other from a previous life and every time he sees him (once or twice a year) he goes into gooey cuddely mode... Whinnies, grooms him, even offers up his food! This is the horse that never shares and shows teeth to any equine within ten meters of his haynet!
My friends now call him GB - Gay Bay

On a more serious note I have even offered the other boys owner some money to let me have the little chestnut so they can be together
