following on from another members post about her daughter's first show, i thought how refreshing it was that when she came last she laughed it off!!!! you just don't see this anymore, i have known kids leave the ring in tears - adults too for that matter- if they come last!! someone has to be there and showing is subjective what one judge loves, another hates etc... i was speaking to someone today who has a youngster but won't take it to a show in case they come last as they think people will laugh at them?? i think life is too short, i have been 1st last and many places in between, but as long as the ponies go well and we look good the rest is upto the judge.
well done to that little girl both for winning rosettes and for good sportsmanship!

I was awful and never laughed it off! in my last show when I was about 14 (10 years ago) we were doing our routine and in canter we never made the corner and bolted straight out the gate!! Was furious at the time but I now look back at it hilariously!

I did my first walk & trot last October with my TB. It was touch & go if we would do it as he had had a hoof abscess, and shoes off for 2 months previous to that. We had no practice & went in with a devil-may-care attitude. We got round, he did a huge buck at "X", and got 56.3% - 2nd from bottom - I was over the moon!!

Thank you for that - it was her attitude that made the day, this pony is so wonderful hacking and a super safe hunter but she will never be a top jumping pony or a showing star but you can't have everything can you so we will just have as much fun with her as possible.
