Hi,
I am at uni of nottingham, but at the campus out by sutton bonington.
I would LOVE to go and try hunting, but a) my mum says she doesn't want me too, prob as she would be afraid of any injuries, b) don't have a horse to ride!

Does any one's mum have issues with them hunting? if so why and what?
And Does anyone have a horse they fancy lending to go hunting round that area? I ahve a car etc :) hehe (cheeky I know, sorry :smirk:)

My mother does worry every time I get the mountain bike out and go hunting, she seems convinced that I am at huge risk of being run over, crash landing or similar fate. It's natural, she's my mother and she worries, that is what mothers do...I don't know what she'd say if I ever got on a horse and went hunting...

Statistically the chances of you being seriously injured must be as low as any other form of competing as long as you are a bit canny. Most hunts will be able to nominate someone experienced to look after you and make sure you don't get lost, overfaced etc.

Can't help with a ned, but if the loan can stretch to it there are hirelings to be had..

Lucy, if you want a fairly quiet couple of hours i'll lend you my lad, he has settled lovely, is safe if not a complete novice ride. We're at Long Whatton.

Think i worry more than my mother. She's very blase about it. Think it's because she's never seen me have a fall so what she doesn't know doesn't hurt her if you like. Dad remembers a trip to Queens Med so is a little more cautious about it.

Just a quick one, has Julie Hyslop started up with hiring again? I thought it all closed down when the ban came in. Interesting to know if it has started up again.
