I've just bought one of these beasts and pick it up this week. I've wanted one for ages and have always heard really good things about them. Anyone else got one?

Ours is 2003 Trooper Duty LWB 3ltr Turbo Diesel. 70k on clock, burgandy. Got 12mths MOT, 6mths tax and 6 mths warranty. Think I'm gonna call her Trudi!!!!! LOL

I have a green one!:)

I love it, but she is getting on a bit now, but I want to keep her going as long as possible!

But ...she is a bit thirsty when diesel is £1.20 a litre :(

we are looking at one, to pull ifor williams 511 + 2 fatties. But it will be a bit older than yours. I like trudy as a name. If we buy one we can form a Trooper club!!

I have also got a Trooper 3ltr Duty. I love it to bits tows like a dream. Make sure Trudi has had her recalls for the injecters. There is a fault with them.

We have one as well. Its a great car, very reliable and good for towing. Shame they stopped making them. Every second farmer in Northumberland used to drive one but newer models now beckon.

Borderreiver, you must just be up the road from me!

We used to have a trooper, I loved it. It was OHs work vehicle, but unfortunately had to give it back when he changed jobs. We have a battered disco now, which I love, but the tropped was ace.

Love my Green Isuzu Trooper, is a T reg Petrol version and running costs are the same as the Millenium Falcon but it is fabulous and does it's job....shame they don't make them anymore......

I have a Vauxhall Monterey, which is the same vehicle, made in Japan for the British market, hence the different badge! She’s burgundy, LWB, S reg and called Ruby Tuesday ;) I’ve had her just under a month and had my first proper go at towing, horse & all, and felt completely confident in the vehicle’s ability so am very pleased :)

I have an R Reg Green 3.1 Diesel Isuzu Trooper. It has about 156k on the clock and has given me a few issues in the past but KNOCK WOOD seems ok now for the moment. People tell me they're very reliable, and I have to say as a towing and using on the farm vehicle it is hard to beat. It is pretty expensive to run these days though.

I think I should give it a name, maybe it feels unloved and that's why it plays up from time time to time.

Ive got one. Suzi is a gold 3.1 turbo diesel duty and Ive owned her for 5 1/2 yrs now and wouldnt swap her for anything else - well maybe one of the newer Isuzu pickups. Ive towed a 510 with 2 big horses in and she found it really easy. Pleasure to drive and can fit 47 dirty rugs in when doing my job. Shes a proper workhorse and I will be very sad when she goes to Trooper heaven!!

had the dreaded 3L everyone says has engine problems - never had any problems in 3yrs of ownership lol! loved it :D
now had a ssangyong rexton - same 3.5t tow capacity - and love it too

Ive had 2 ,first one the 2.8 j reg absolutely brilliant got scruffy and rusty so I bought a very smart M reg import ,worse thing I ever did ,it blew 3 head gaskets & cost me £3,500 in repairs in1 year ,I had to give it away in a trade in for a mitsubishi twincab ,unbelievably it blew a gasket the first week ,I had it repaired under warranty and as soon as the warranty ran out it started heating up again ,luckily someone stole it a few weeks later !

I have a green S reg 3.6 petrol version, bit thirsty but never let me down yet and tows really well (only ised for towing0 Only done 70K miles and he's called Pappa (as in Sooopappa, troopappa lol!)
