It’s happening!

He’s home!! Pranced off the horsebox to a crowd of around 30 at the yard ooing and awning at him! He had a walk around the school on a long rein and is settled in his stable. I’m excited to see him in the morning.

He’s super lovely - so affectionate! We did 10 mins in the school yesterday and Friday, and half an hour today. He wouldn’t canter today but we have a lesson tomorrow and he cantered when I tried him, so I’m not worrying!

he hasn’t been schooled very much so it’s going to be a little bit of work getting used to the stamina and expectations.

he’s 15.1, and he isn’t as chunky as this at the moment as he hasn’t been in regular work/on any feed - so we’re going to build back up to that!

Yes I did - and one of the other girls cantered him yesterday. I think I’m being a bit nervous and he’s picking up on it. In every other respect he’s exactly the same as when I tried him (fidget on the ground, steady on his back...touch wood!)

Exciting news. Had the saddle fitter out today (had been borrowing a saddle from his old owners) and he was like a different horse once the new saddle was on! Much more forward (in a good way) and cantered on first ask without a whip! Hurrah! The old one must have really bothered him, poor duck!
