Poor little Wills had to have his back medicated again today and when the rather long needles went in the vet said he could feel more calcification around his vertebrae.
He had KS surgery three years ago when two of his spinous processes were reduced and it has been a really rocky road and he has had to have his back medicated at differing intervals. However we have come on absolute miles and I can tell the signs when its time to have his back treated again, sometimes the Physio will suffice but this time it had to be another injection.
So looks like my poor baby has more kissing spines, feel thoroughly deflated really. Why fate decided to be so mean to him I have no idea.
Vet said all is not so bad for the future as he is now sound and moving beautifully and using his back properly instead of wondering around like a giraffe he is soft and round so this will help with his back continuing to strengthen.
So when your horse is unhappy and swishing his/her tail and kicking out they could be telling you more than just being naughty. I would also say believe in yourself and what you feel with your horse, the horse world is very opinionated and many people may be very knowledgeable but they will never be the font of all knowledge!!!!!
