So tried the borrowed treeless, horse wasn't happy though position wise felt comfy heard stories about it feeling odd, but felt on top/distanced from horse. Though have been riding bareback for months, horse felt stiff, awkward took it off jumped on bareback & happy again ( maybe it's the girth, so long without). I think treeless is the way but finding something to suit us, but I'm worried we will never feel 100% we are so use to nothing between us. ( going to be odd doing rising trot again), have thought about just bareback pad but again it's the spine clearance, not that there is any at mo bareback.
i feel so .. I don't know, disappointed I guess that nothing is working, I currently have 4 different saddles sat here, & not one mine all lent to try.

What's your budget... If he goes nicely bareback but not so well in a treeless, I'd try a reactor panel saddle. They aren't cheap but they are good. I also remember seeing one on preloved for £500. Although that was a few months back it may still be on there. I've seen many a horse go very well in them and a number of people on here use them, my mare didn't go well in one when I tried one out but I was very surprised as they really are good saddles and allow lots of freedom of movement.

reactor panel? Haven't heard of that is that like the wow saddles? I'm hoping I can just type in google to find, my budget is under £1000 poss little over but just means buying after Christmas which i will probably do anyway as searching taking forever.

Will get brand name for you tomorrow morning as not with me at mo, but it's A treeless one with stuffing/padding with a gapy bit down the spine area.

What treeless did you try? There are very different styles and some are frankly pants.

100% agree with this. When I got my horse he came with a cheap horrible treeless, and no matter what expensive pad you put under it, it was still pants!

After trying treed, then went back to treeless. Got a barefoot with VPS and it's amazing. Seriously, don't bother with the cheap treeless it just isn't worth it.

if you go treeless you need to do it properly.

That's you all for your input I have wrote all ideas down to try, I have no idea what I would co without your help/idea's :0) thank you, got some hope & a direction to go.
The saddle I tried was like the bareback general saddle, it was only to try to see if it worked before I went out & brought one, but will try a actual bareback one once someone gets back to me.

If you search pingpongpony's posts, she has a Total contact saddle and talks about it (with photos) quite a bit. It does sound like it might suit you as you are used to riding bareback. :)

Just googled total contact saddles -- PERFECT-- takes away the fitting, I'm already riding bareback & love it, horse happy, how did I not see this before!!!!!
But! What numnah do you use some mentioned gel while pic have Normal numnah, guessing I will have to sell my never been used half sheep skin pad :0(.
