If I remember correctly, the Guardian once referred to eventing as "Sheepdog Trials".

This was in the run-up to BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2006, with the surprisingly controversial Zara Phillips taking the award.

that really is a lesson in the fine art of wrestling half a tonne of horse to the floor. jeez, you can learn a LOT watching those sorts of vids.

What a horse at 00.48-00.49 - just stood still immediately (even though it is downhill and he must have had quite a momentum) trying not to step on the rider.
Edited to say: but looks like the rider did get a kick in the end.
