I dont actually miss riding at all...

Ted's been out of action for 4 months now and i am not exactly missing riding,,, AT ALL.

i'm just glad to go up the yard and have a nice cuddle with my boy if i'm honest..

Turned him out earlier for the first time.. and he went boz.. so dreadign going the yard later!

i know how you feel, having horses sometimes is not always about riding.it also involves the unconditional love that they have to offer.

TBH I went through a phase of this where I didn't have anything to ride, the babies were growing all over the place so didn't have any plans to show them either.

I had to really force myself to get back on the injured ones when it was time to and there are days it's still a little half hearted....

i couldnt ride when tabs had her bad back and i did miss riding but i did enjoy just going up and spending the time i would riding giving her a really good groom

Im the opposite I am having withdrawal.Ollie had spavin op then splint also stood on a 4 inch nail now he is off with kick injury.Last year was bad as well tendon and concussion of cannon bone.I can ride my daughters but its not the same I love looking after him but miss the riding.Im hoping that a week off from the kick and he will be sound unfortunately she kicked him next to the just recently healed splint.I think the caring is a huge part of horse ownership .

i'm rather lucky. i own a yearling so no riding her of course, but i look after another 12 or so horses and ponies of which i have a choice of 6 of those to ride

1 is a bucking bronco tho

ive got a 17.3hh hanovariani can ride and a little anglo i can ride... im just not really interested at the moment.

That is so sweet!!

I know how you feel cos I couldn't ride for ages after breaking my hip. But still just enjoyed looking after my boy and it was the best thing I could do to get fit again.

I couldn't exactly leave him to suffer whilst I tried to get fit again. Hated it whilst I was on crutches though and couldn't help look after him.

So glad though to be back riding I must admit after being away from it for nearly 9 months!!!!
