Sooooooo after a year of irritating Intermittant lameness on right fore, subsequent MRI scan and barefoot rehab my lovely gingie was going great guns but since Christmas the following has occurred...
1) Took G to local school for some proper jump training as had pencilled in first bs outing since July for weekend, got on and immediately discovered he was lame on left fore. Ok no panic...calmly assess, consult vet and concentrate on getting some work into the rising 5 year old in the meantime
2) Rising 5 year old suddenly becomes very footy. Ok, still no problem, use hoof boots to help as only recently transitioning to barefoot...it's all fine!
3) Took Rising 5 year old to local school for some education, got on, was swiftly ejected off, casualty, X-ray and broken collar bone....Ok so who wants to ride at this time of year anyway? By the time I'm mended it will be light, warm and all will be easier, I will just throw them out each day with one arm and start again at end of feb
4) Oh dear rising 5 year old is now crippled lame....suspected abscess, commence the one arm foot poulticing.....ummm right I give up!
Upshot is, I hate winter! Fields are underwater, dark makes everything so much harder, but I rekon I am firmly in line for a good old healthy dose of good luck and finally a fab season competing my horses in the light and warm. I'm sure this is how it works and this is the view I am subscribing to! BRING IT ON!
