Not slacking multitasking
Frank went round a cross country course on his own, clear!!
with minimal napping and going sideways at the start and I think he actually enjoyed it.
Granted I haven't spent 4 years trying, I haven't bothered for the last couple after a horrible round a couple of years ago. He had done it before but not with me and not when he had a blonde girlfriend to worry about where she was!- oh and he most definitely isn't a baby!
So after a lesson last week today we went to a clear round XC.
first time I caught him unawares and we were off, it was a bit ragged, lots of kicking and growling but effective. Just doing little 2'3 fences so didn't take a pull just kept him going. got back clear!!
had a break before doing the bigger course, and did had a pretend start box and sis counted us down. He started again fine, didn't go quite so fast this time just a good steady pace and he was looking for his jumps. then he spotted girlfriend through the gap but let me turn him in the opposite direction, spotted the jump and popped it. We did have one issue at a stack of sleepers which was a bit narrow. I think I let off him too much and I should have bounced him into it more but we learn from mistakes, just slid off so jumped back on and jumped it fine. all the way to the end.
was too tired to go again but as the sleepers weren't far away hacked to them and jumped them a few more times and the one before and after them just to make sure I rode them properly
I am so pleased with him and his attitude today, the reason I haven't done before is because he got so stressed was really nappy on the way out and then would turn for home and jump a bit blind.
So SJ lesson on wed and we are all set for our ODE on saturday
