My poor horses, it's been a constant noise of fireworks for a couple of hrs now, they are on top of a hill so can see all of them, I hate fireworks.
Anyone else worried about their ge ge's?

My little TB is hysterical and threatening to jump out. As she is in a partition in the barn if I close her top door she could theoretically go over the partition wall which is only 4' high and get herself stuck.

I'm tempted to swap her with one in a conventional stable but I'm also not convinced of the sanity of trying to lead her across the yard in the state she's in.

We've left our's out to run around, when I looked just before I left they tucked themselves in the back of the field by the tree's.

I think the horses will be ok, but will go down later to check. I'm currently locked in my kitchen with my neurotic dog - TV on top volume, expelair on highest setting, radio on and washing machine on......can't think of anything else that I can put on!

Luckily my lot are behind an airfield, so no fireworks for them!
My poor skunk on the other hand is climbing the walls of his enclosure:(

Jemima, try popping something in her ears beforehand, if you can muffle the sound she might not react so badly whilst you move her.

Hello all - I'm a newbee here. :) My two horses are inside tonight, but only because my boy has had a bout of laminitis. I went down to check on them about an hour ago and was dreading what kind of state they would be in....but they were fine. In fact, my mare seemed to be quite enjoying watching the fireworks display which was going on up the road!

My horses I think ok, but like Rebelsmum having trouble with two of my dogs although the sedatives seem to be working as they aren't going really ape***** like last year, but what has me worried my young dog, has suddenly gotten worried, with the fireworks going off 2 doors away(which has set several house alarms going off) than the hugmungus display 10 minutes earlier.

Sadly she's too hysterical to get near her ears atm. It appears a truce has broken out in the fireworks war so I'm just going to nip down in my nightie and steel toe-capped wellies (really) and see how she is now and if she's still bad shift her across - assuming I can get a headcollar on her.

Wish me luck!

Well my lad is stabled at night all year anyway so have kept him to this routine. I stayed with him when I knew the closest displays were going off and he was fine, busy eating hay and had the occasional look over his stable door. There are one or two still going off but he was fine so I have left him to it. He has got pretty used to them over the years and we have shooting close by each Sunday too.

It seems that the truce is holding. She's in her usual routine and stable but obviously isn't happy about fireworks at all. I've decided to leave her where she is for now. All the others are fine with them.

No doubt there will be more tomorrow:(

Everyone I know is heartily sick of fireworks, no one lets anyone know when they are letting them off and they are much too loud these days. I don't understand why people don't realise that if they let them off in their garden the neighbours for at least a mile are subjected to the noise and disturbance. Very antisocial and should be banned from public sale, people are too selfish and stupid to be allowed to let off explosives willy nilly. I dread this time of year as we get them most nights for 2 weeks. Totally unacceptable.

Going crazy round here and suspect it will be worse tomorrow :(

I'll check the horses again later, but when I last looked one was cowering in the back of the stable and the other was completely unconcerned.

Likewise one cat is under the sofa and the other is sleeping on my lap. Amazing really that a large cat can wedge itself under a very low sofa. Poor thing she HATES loud noises

Seems my animals are equally divided between completely uninterested and pooping themselves!

Am praying my babyhorse is alright. They're on a pretty steep hill but the only other option was to bring her in and shes perfectly capable of leaping her door so didnt wanna risk that. I'm stuck babysitting for the worlds most inconsiderate family so am just sat worrying. xxxx

My a*sehole of a next door neighbour has had bangs so loud the house has felt like vibrating. Clearly he didn't think of telling us and the poor pony is terrified, 3 dogs howling and the cats cowering. Its like something you would expect at a huge professional display not someones house.
I have also just received a text from YO inviting us to a fireworks party at the yard tomorrow night, she recons none of the horses will mind..........??!!!!!!!
