italian sports horse?!

Has anyone heard of them... Hes from italy and his passport states hes an italian sports horse. He was a stallion so it must be a breed :/

However if you google it, its very hard to find anything about them.
I googled his sire(google carnute) and hes a very nice selle francais stallion but no idea about his dam...

Does that mean its a selle francais cross? I would add a pic of him but cant on phone he kind of looks tb to me but you can tell hes not thoroughbred.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience/info on the breed?

Hi! Here is an Italian page with a little information on the Italian Riding horse http://www.agraria.org/equini/italianodasella.htm the site is also in English but if you take some of the key Italian phrases and search them on google you might find more information. As far as I'm aware they are a type rather than a breed (similar I supose to the Irish Sport Horse), and the ones I have known have all been massive and used for showjumping (hence lots of selle francais bloodlines). If he looks like a TB perhaps he has lots of Anglo arab (sardo) in him too - these are Italian 'racehorses' that race in the palii (like the Palio of Siena). hope that helps a bit

FDC - I do like the Maremmano, the ones I've known have all been nice to ride and the only one who was naughty to handle was like that because of his owner (who let him walk all over him). He was a saint ridden though and the guy used to put his 3 kids on him (sometimes all at the same time - they were v small kids and it's a v big horse!), bareback and just in a headcollar

he could be anything x wise. Italian sports horse means he was born in Italy and will be registered with UNIRE, and probably registered with the FISE. If you give me his detail I could try and find out more about him for you. What kind of passport does he have?
